Niche Biz: Atlanta Insurance Live

Insurance may not be the most exciting field, but opportunities abound for businesses owners willing to break away from the traditional corporate model and add their own spin, according to a story at Inc.com.

That’s exactly what Chris Jordan did last March when he left his corporate insurance sales job and founded Atlanta Insurance Live, a home-based sole proprietorship that is built on the premise of interacting with clients virtually.

Jordan maintains a video blog about insurance issues and chats live with customers through his website. He employs a casual style and remains transparent about his home-based status — as a new way to market his business and dispel the stigma of stuffy insurance agents in suits and ties, in order to attract a younger demographic.

So far, it seems to be working, with a steadily growing customer base.

Niche Biz: LeadDog Consulting

Just because you work from home doesn’t mean you can’t sell to the world’s biggest customer — Uncle Sam, reports Inc.com.

Jim Anderson has digitally mapped over 100 countries from his home office nestled in the hills of Anchorage, Alaska, which he describes as the crossroads of the grizzly and black bear populations.

Founded in 2000, Anderson’s company, LeadDog Consulting, has carved a niche in the mapping industry by documenting roads and major points of interest in developing countries, where major infrastructure knowledge is lacking.

The company got attention for its extensive mapping efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, making it one of the only providers of those materials to the U.S. government and military. After the start of the Iraq war, NBC News commissioned LeadDog to produce a map of Basra that the network could display as part of their broadcasts.

Websites Need Targeted Traffic – Get It With These 6 Tips

It is important to generate high volumes of  web traffic to your site, but it must be traffic that is relevant to your niche. It is no good having thousands visitors looking at your web site, if the product you are offering is not what your visitors want. This is why it is important to generate targeted traffic, that is website traffic that is relevant to your product and your niche.

Let us take a look at some tips and ways in which we can attract useful web traffic:

1. Make sure your advertising campaigns are created and aimed at your targeted customers. Make sure you use the relevant keywords that define your potential customers in all your advertising campaigns.

If your going to use Google Adwords, specify your targeted customers in your advert.

If you are going to write articles for promoting your website, your articles must use the keywords that are related to your niche. This is important to drive targeted web traffic to your site.

2. Submit your web site to top search engines and directories in categories that are related to your niche. If your website is about "How to train your dog" get your site listed under the appropriate websites This means that when  potential customers search the term "How to train your dog" they will find your web site more easily.

3. You can drive targeted traffic by advertising your website on relevant forums and other online groups that are related to your topic. The more research you do in finding your target market the better, the more you know about your customers and where to find them the easier it will be to target them.

You can visit relevant forums and other online groups, and can advertise your website by having your URL in your signature when you make posts to these forums. This targeted traffic will have a high potential of converting to paying customers for your website.

4. Write articles that are rich in unique and fresh content and also have relevant keywords in the body of your article. By using this method for targeting traffic, your articles will be published by many web sites, e-zines and directories. You can also build thousands of back links to your site using articles, this helps in getting high search engine ranking and in turn will drive targeted traffic to your site.

5. Create your own e-zine and use other e-zines to advertise your site. By creating and publishing your own e-zine you build a following of targeted and interested potential customers. Your e-zine should have fresh content, also give away a free report or free e-books to your subscribers.

Be sure to include your URL in all the publications of your e-zine, advertise your website on other related e-zines, try not to advertise with e-zines that are in direct competition with your own e-zine. Rather choose an e-zine that compliments your own topic.

6. Look for other web sites that your potential customers might visit and inquire about advertising on those sites, again try to pick sites that are complimentary to your own site and not in direct competition.

Use these tips and methods to drive targeted traffic to your website, and you will build a very successful online business.

Doing Good By Paying Forward

Over the next few days, as you tuck your holiday gifts away, your thoughts may turn to paying some of your good fortune forward, reports The New York Times.

Perhaps the fastest-growing way to act on these altruistic instincts is participating in microfinancing. You take a relatively small amount of money and, through an online marketplace of sorts, give or lend it to a specific person or project whose story moves you. (Not all microfinancing organizations are nonprofits, however, so be aware of the differences.)

This fall, Kiva, one of the leading organizations in a niche that includes others like DonorsChoose and the eBay-owned MicroPlace, came under fire in a blog post by a microfinance researcher named David Roodman. He took Kiva to task for inaccurate information on its Web site about how the loans, made to entrepreneurs in the developing world by its users, actually worked.

Many of those business owners, it turned out, had received their money already; they weren’t left waiting to, say, repair their motorcycle taxis until enough Americans pitched in with $20 loans.

Kiva has since changed its site to reflect this reality more accurately. But the incident poses a question about other organizations that try to provide a direct connection between you and the beneficiaries of your donations or investments: can any of them truly deliver on the promise that many of them imply — that your dollars will go to the particular people or project leader you’ve picked out?

What Is The Right Amount Of Articles For Success?

What Is The Right Amount Of Articles For Success?

Statistics play a significant part in your article marketing success. If you want to be making money soon, then you need to mass produce like an assembly line.  What is the right amount for success is an answer that each individual must decide for him or herself.

A number of of the best article marketers who produce up to $200/day write up to 12 articles a day.

Why so many articles?

When you write 12 articles a day to promote 4 products, you would be able to quickly identify products that sell like hot cakes.  You do not have to be an inexhaustible writer to be able to write that many articles.  The secret to bulk producing content is all about knowing the technique to do so.

Here is a suggested approach that you may want to adopt:

Step 1: Come up with or research a list of 5-10 killer ideas in your niche.  Remember, good content is a successful form of PREsell. List down 10 ideas, tips, advice that will help your reader either solve their particular predicament better or do something better.  They ought to be pretty killer ideas since you are recognized as the expert. They can be clear-cut ideas like "Setting Goals" and you twist it to the slant of success.  It is imperative that you create this list of ideas beforehand and be very familiar with how these ideas perform. You are going to be using this listing of
Ideas very very often.

WHAT IF you are completely clueless in that niche and still choose to promote partner products?

Easy!  Use up a few bucks and obtain those products.  Read through them and find more ideas from them. This is how you conduct research and  learn about those ideas and understand how they perform, and express them differently.

Step 2: You need to set up an system  you can draw on for each article.  Any good article is made up of several parts. There is the article title, the article body and the resource box.  The key here is to break each article into even
smaller, manageable chunks to speed up your writing.

Step 2a: Create an irresistible Article Title:  The objective of your article title is to make it desirable and appealing so that folks would in fact want to click and read your article.  There are several ways to do this effectively - you can be asking a question, or you can link your article to someone famous.  The goal here is to make it striking and appealing to grab ATTENTION!

Step 2b: How to quickly do up the Article Body:  Now, writing the article body is very simple once you break it into 5 parts.

Part 1: Introduction -  Start off with questions related to your topic - use simple questions.

Part 2: Tip #1 - Provide a worthwhile tip, secret or advice in parts 2, 3 and 4. Use that list of killer ideas that you brainstormed earlier! The thought here is to provide some value to your readers. By providing worth, you build trust with your readers and they are more likely to buy what you have to propose.  Just keep it simple, you do not want to divulge everything here.  Do the same for Parts 3 and 4.  Each tip should be 3-5 lines max.

Part 3: Tip #2 -

Part 4: Tip #3

Part 5: Conclusion

If you want to create more sales with your articles, always be recommending the product at this point. Mention about the author, his or her eBook or plan. But never put any target links in the article body because some directories do not allow it.. Your reader can find the link to the product through your resource box.

There you have it a down-to-earth system to get you churning out articles like a Pro in no time.  Start writing twice as many articles as you are writing now and each week try to double the output.  Make it a game and stretch yourself a little and watch your bank account grow.  Success will be measured by the size of your bank account.

Good Luck!
